MCA GOLF Helps Players Maximize the Fitting Experience with DIAMANA™ TB-Series Shafts

Carlsbad, CA – (September 08, 2020) – The new DIAMANA™ TB-Series from Mitsubishi Chemical are the first shafts to feature the company’s new Consistent Feel Design™, an innovative approach created to help players take full advantage of the modern dedicated fitting experience.

Consistent Feel Design™ minimizes any variance in butt OD, weight and balance point between weights and flexes within a series. For DIAMANA™ TB that means minimal change across a range from 40R2 all the way to 80TX.

“A fitter can move up and down the scale, swapping out shafts without a player noticing any dramatic change in how the club feels in their hands,” says Gunther. “This removes any biases or need to ‘get used’ the next shaft option, which allows the fitter to zero in on the exact right weight and flex combo to maximize that individual player’s performance.”

In comparison to the previous generation, DIAMANA™ TB shafts feature 80% less variance in butt OD through the series and 60% less variance in weight between flexes.

Mitsubishi Chemical’s new dual-phase #371 Resin System creates a stronger bond and produces a more carbon-rich structure that is both universally stronger and more responsive. The resulting prepreg delivers both high modulus and high elongation, for an overall smoother, more stable blue-board profile.

In addition, MR70 and Boron fiber are strategically integrated into the shafts to optimize overall strength and stability.

Created to aid the modern fitting process, Consistent Feel Design™ is an engineering approach that minimizes any variation in butt OD, weight or balance point through an entire shaft series. The goal is to remove any difference a player might feel as they hold a club, thereby removing any distraction when comparing different weights or flexes.



A ground-breaking innovation, Mitsubishi Chemical’s #371 Resin System is a unique, dual-phase application that utilizes both epoxy and non-epoxy components to produce a carbon-rich structure with a stronger bond between resin and fiber. The cross-linked phases create both high modulus and high elongation strength, yielding a lighter and universally stronger prepreg.



Specifically designed and developed by Mitsubishi Chemical for high-performance applications, MR70 is an innovative carbon fiber material that is 20% stronger with a 10% greater modulus than conventional materials.



Boron fiber is equivalent in stiffness to high modulus carbon fiber, but with superior compression strength.  As a result, it is often utilized for structural reinforcement, most notably in military applications. Mitsubishi Chemical uses Boron fiber in combination with other proprietary materials to produce prepreg options that deliver unprecedented strength and stability.



Ion Plating is a process that creates a sophisticated, premium finish that cannot be achieved by a simple paint application. The shafts are placed in a vacuum chamber where chrome or silver alloy ions are fused to the surface, creating a stunning finish that is more than worth the extra time.
