MRC GOLF, INC. Debuts the FUBUKI™ Z and ZT-Series

Carlsbad, CA - (March 1, 2014) - MRC GOLF, INC. has introduced the FUBUKI™ Z-Series and FUBUKI™ ZT-Series of shafts. The new product lines are designed to complement the current profiles in the FUBUKI™ family and increase the line’s overall versatility.

Based on the highly successful FUBUKI™ α-Series profile, the FUBUKI™ Z and ZT-Series of shafts incorporate third-generation Modulus Differential Technology (MDT) that now delivers optimal performance - regardless of the shaft's weight and flex. By varying the application, length and location of MDT in this new series, we've developed shafts that maintain a smooth and consistent bend profile throughout the swing.

MDT was a major advance in shaft tip design, beginning with the original FUBUKI™ profile in 2009. It allowed us to use in concert materials with different fiber strengths and performance characteristics like never before at specific locations and patterns in the tip section, to create unique launch and spin characteristics for the most-demanding players.

FUBUKI™ Z-Series Profile

In addition to MDT, the Z-Series features progressive torque and a standard balance point -- making it a versatile shaft designed to fit a wide range of players and abilities. The standard balance point also makes it easier to achieve traditional swing weight targets, even with a lightweight profile. This profile features a similar bend profile as the ZT-Series, to deliver the same stability in the mid- and butt sections but with a tip that promotes a higher launch.

There's also a new FUBUKI™ Z-Series fairway wood-specific shaft that also features progressive torque and MDT, so it likewise fits a wide range of players and abilities.

FUBUKI™ ZT-Series Profile

The ZT-Series was designed specifically with better players in mind. Using the same bend profile as the FUBUKI™ Z-Series, it has stiffer mid- and tip sections -- yielding lower launch and spin -- and includes heavier weights, low torque and a higher balance point that's optimal for adjustable clubheads. The shaft also features 40-ton carbon fiber material, for outstanding impact stability.

Cosmetic Overview

FUBUKI™ means "white out" or "blizzard" in Japanese, so the use of white was central to the graphic approach. The signature graphic element - the "throwing star" associated with traditional weaponry of the Japanese Ninja - has been stylized to also represent a snowflake. In Japanese, "buki" means "weapon."
