Kai’li, a single word from two — “Kai” meaning ocean, “Li” energy — meant to embody the immense power and mystery of the ocean. As more than 85% of the ocean remains undiscovered, any shaft launched under the Kai’li name is representative of another discovery in shaft innovation. The same way much of the ocean remains undiscovered, so too does shaft technology and innovation. This season, Kai’li White and Kai’li Blue join the legacy of Diamana and TENSEI; two unique profiles that deliver on Mitsubishi Chemical's commitment to bring the next innovation closer. [+]
NEW FOR 2022 – Kai’li™ Blue proves that intimidating power comes in more than one form. With a low torque value similar to Kai’li™ White, the taper butt design of Kai’li™ Blue offers an active feel in the hands and slightly higher launch and spin than Kai’li™ White – giving players two extraordinary-feeling Kai’li™ profiles that produce different launch and spin conditions. Kai’li™ shafts utilize Mitsubishi Chemical’s Super Low Resin Content (S.L.R.C.) Prepreg and an MR70-reinforced tip, which combine to make Kai’li™ Blue our most stable and smoothest blue profile yet. A modern mid-launching, mid-spinning shaft built to provide the stability demanded by stronger swings and heavier head weights. [+]
The first in the Kai'li series, the low-launch, low-spin Kai’li™ White was engineered to explore new depths of power and performance and has already supported five wins on tour since its launch in Fall of 2021. Designed to keep torque low under the demands of today’s high velocity swings, Kai’li White features an extremely strong MR70-reinforced tip to promote consistent center-face impact and tighter dispersion. Additionally, a taper butt design – the first in a Mitsubishi Chemical low-launch profile – along with Super Low Resin Content Prepreg and increased carbon fiber in the torque core produce a smooth, responsive feel in the hands not often associated with low launch profiles. In short, Kai'li White is a blue-feeling, white-performing, and wholly unique shaft that doesn't sacrifice feel for flight. [+]
In December of 2020, the Mitsubishi Chemical Tour and Development teams headed to Sea Island, Georgia for the first of several testing sessions with an array of players. This session demonstrated Kai'li's ability to produce consistent center-face strikes, reduce relative spin deviation, and deliver tighter dispersion. [+]
Kai'li Blue is our most stable and smoothest blue profile yet; a modern mid-launching, mid-spinning shaft built to provide the stability demanded by stronger swings and heavier head weights. Kai’li™ Blue is ideal for players seeking to move from a low-launch to mid-launch shaft without making the sacrifice of higher torque. [+]
Kai'li White's magic is this: an industry-exclusive Super Low Resin Content Prepreg integrated into the most consequential part of the golf shaft for feel – the torque core – allowing for an increased volume of carbon fiber. Together, this combination helps drive torque lower, increasing stability and consistency, while also providing greater frequency response to the golfer's hands. [+]
The Mitsubishi Chemical Team and GEARS founder Michael Neff discuss the launch of the Kai'li brand, the performance results of Kai'li on Tour and in GEARS testing, and the core material structure that gives Kai'li both stability and feel.

MR70 Carbon Fiber - Specifically designed and developed by Mitsubishi Chemical for high-performance aerospace-grade applications, MR70 is an innovative carbon fiber material that is 20% stronger and has 10% the modulus than conventional materials.
<20% Low Resin PrePreg - Super Low Resin Content (S.L.R.C.) Prepreg contains up to 15% more carbon fiber and 13% less resin than traditional prepregs. This allows for a higher density of carbon fibers, producing up to 40T strength with less added weight and a purer feel. The S.L.R.C. fibers are also uniquely oriented at 45° to provide added tip strength and drive down torque value.
GEARS CERTIFIED - Through continued material advancement and innovation, GEARS data validation, and tour input, Mitsubishi Chemical will give players the opportunity to optimize every segment of their game and fitters the confidence of consistent performance.
